Large funding agencies such as : the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the Inter-American Bank of Development, encourage developing countries to better their territory management in the perspective of long-term development. A better territory management allows developing countries to generate new financial resources by putting into place an equitable system for collecting land tax. Indoing so, these countries will be able to further invest in such fields as health, education, land security, etc.
The Cégep Limoilou places at the disposal of emerging and developing countries over 30 years of experience in the field of geomatic sciences. It is the only Cégep to have developed this expertise equally in the fields of geodesy and cartography. As a member of GeoQuebec, an organization, which unites private companies, specialized in geomatics, collegial educational establishments, universities as well as government agencies, the Cégep Limoilou has participated in projects of strategic action in many countries, helping to establish training programs and insure the transfer of information in this fields.
